What We Believe

We recognizre that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the primary source for direction and truth for the Christian life. (2 Tim. 3:16; Proverbs 30:5)

We acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for our sins, and was resurrected from the dead. (John  1:1-14; 1 Cor. 15:1-8)

We believe that there is one true God who exists in three persons, God the Father, Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Matt 28:19; John 1:1, 14; John 14:26; 1 Peter 1:2)

We believe that salvation is by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ's death on the cross.  (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 5:8-11)

We believe those wishing to identify themselves as followers of Christ would, in obedience, do two things inwardly (believe in Jesus, repent of sin) and do two things outwardly (confess that Jesus is Lord and be baptized by immersion). (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Peter 3:21)

We observe the Lord's Supper (Communion) each week as an act of Christian worship to remember the Lord's death, burial, and resurrection as atonement for our sins and as a demonstration of communal unity.  (Luke 22:15-19; 1 Cor. 11:23-26)

We believe each of us is called by God to to bring Kingdom values to bear in our local community and the world by going into our community to work where God is working. This calling is expressed by the Great Commands and Great Commission: Love God, Love Each Other, Make Disciples of all Peoples. (Matt 22:37-39, 28:19-20)

We invite into our fellowship all who would commit themselves to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and regard its people as not the only Christians, but as Christians only, seeking oneness with all believers in matters essential to Christian faith. (Acts 11:26; 1 Peter 2:17)
